Sam Bourne/Jonathan Freedland

Sam Bourne / Jonathan Freedland is a Bristish journalist and author. He writes a weekly column for The Guardian while also writing thrillers under the pseudonym of Sam Bourne. Freedland is the youngest of three children and the only son of his Jewish parents. His father Micheal was a biographer and journalist. Before university, Freedland took a gap year and worked on a a kibbutz in Israel with the Labour Zionist Habonim Dror. He would then attend Wadham College, Oxaford where he studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics. Freedland joined BBC in 1990 and would go on to write for The Guardian and Daily Mirror.
