Roger Jon (R.J.) Ellory is a English author of thriller novels. He includes Arthur Conan Doyle, Michael Moorcock, J.R.R. Tolkien and Stephen King as some of his major influences. When Roger was six years old, his mother passed away, leaving him an orphan. He attended a number of different schools before finally finishing school at Kingham Hill School in Oxfordshire. Roger started writing started writing his first novel in November 1987 and didn’t stop writing until July 1993. He had completed 21 novels, but only received rejection letters from publishers. After this, Ellory gave up writing until September 2001, as it was the only thing he had ever wanted to do.
R.J. Ellory became a published novelist in 2003 with the novel Candlemoth. The novel was nominated for a CWA Silver Dagger for Best Thriller in 2003. Below is a list of R.J. Ellory’s books in order of when they were first published:
