Michael Chabon
Michael Chabon is an American author of literary fiction and children’s novels. Aside from his novels and children’s books, he has also written and published screenplays, comics and newspaper serials. Michael realized he wanted to be a writer after writing a short story for school at age 10, and never looked back. Chabon attended Carnegie Mellon University, but transferred to the University of Pittsburgh and earned his B.A. under Chuck Kinder in 1984. He then got his M.F.A. in creative writing from the University of California, Irvine. Although Michael is known for his literary fiction, he is a strong defender of genre fiction. Michael lives in Berkeley, California with his wife, novelist Ayelet Waldman, and their four children.
Michael Chabon made his debut as a published novelist in 1988 with the novel The Mysteries of Pittsburgh. Throughout his career, he has received such awards as the O. Henry Award, Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, Nebula Award for Best Novel, Hugo Award for Best Novel and the Sidewise Award for Alternate History.
