Mary Roach

Mary Roach is an American author who writes science and humor books. She is best known as the author of Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers, Bonk: The Curious Coupling of Science and Sex, and Packing for Mars: The Curious Science of Life in the Void. Roach was born in New Hampshire and grew up in the area. She then went on to attend Wesleyan University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology. After college she went to work as a freelance copy editor before starting her writing career. She would begin writing freelance and went on to publish essays and articles in publications like GQ, The New York Times Magazine, and Wired.
