Mary H.K. Choi

Mary H.K. Choi is a Korean-American author best known for her YA novels, Emergency Contact and Permanent Record. In addition to her work as an author, Mary is also a culture correspondent for Vice News Tonight. She has also worked as a columnist for Wired Magazine and Allure. Choi was born in Seoul, South Korea, but her family moved to Hong Kong before her first birthday. She spent the early part of her life there until her family moved to the United States when she was 14. She attended the University of Texas at Austin where she majored in Textile and Apparel.
