Bernard Malamud

Bernard Malamud (1914-1986) was an American author of fiction and non-fiction books. During his writing career, he won two National Book Awards, the Pulitzer Prize and the Gold Medal of the American Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters. He was considered one of the best Jewish American authors of the time, along with Saul Bellow, Joseph Heller and Philip Roth. Bernard Malamud made his debut as a novelist in 1952 with the novel The Natural.
